waltonmendelson
Using Window 10 (fully updated), 32 GB RAM, AffinityPhoto ver. 1.10.1.1142 . . . dead in the water! AP crashed (I've been working 8-12 hours a day and it's crashed several times since the last update). I restarted it, but Studio is frozen. I have no layers palette, etc. I rebooted and started it again. Nothing. I uninstalled AP and reinstalled it. Studio is frozen. I have no layers, etc. I rebooted and started it again. Nothing. A second time: I uninstalled AP. I power cycled. I reinstalled AP. Studio is frozen. I rebooted and started it again. Nothing. Although I can bring up the Studio panel, and it shows that things have been selected: Nothing shows up on the desktop. Despite the check marks, no: Adjustments, Brushes, Channels, Color, Effects, Layers, etc. I cannot click on or off any of the items. Studio is frozen. The tools and the context bar seem to work, I've tried most of the tools. I can create a new file, and I can work on it. But I have no idea what layer I'm working on, nor do I have access to any of the Studio features, so for all practical purposes, AP is dead. waltonmendelson
FWI . . . Hardware acceleration is off. I had problem with InPaint creating its own places to work, and turning it off was the recommended fix: it worked until the new version of AP. waltonmendelson
FWI #2 . . . Neither Edit > Default > Factory Reset (grayed out) or Studio > Studio Reset do anything. Walton
waltonmendelson
My bad . . . One last try: Clear User Data! That fixed it! You'd think, but I didn't. Walton Old Bruce and Chris B
