Opening PDF - missing fonts

Recommended Posts

Each time I want to open a PDF, I've missing fonts.

Aphoto is unable to pixelate the fonts, it replaces fonts by other ones. The only solution is to open PDF in Photoshop. Is there a solution without Photoshop ?

I can open PDF files and make a copy screen but it's a poor solution.

The Affinity applications do not use the fonts embedded in a PDF. You need to have them installed in your machine if you're going to Open the PDF file.

You may be able to Place the file and specify Passthrough mode instead.

Hi Lenore,

If you try to open a PDF and AP doesn't have access to the original fonts, you should receive q dialog box like this,
where you can define which fonts are substituted for the missing ones :-

AP actually does a pretty good job of rendering the original text, even if you deselect 'Replace missing fonts'.

This is on AP v1.10.1 for Mac - I'm assuming it works this way on Windows as well.
