Artur Owczarek Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 When I exported the attached simple document to svg, the thickness of the curves is broken. What might be the reason for this strange behaviour? Affinity Designer 1.10.0 for mac diagram.afdesign diagram.svg Quote
David in Яuislip Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 I changed units to pixels and aligned all the objects positions as integers, looks ok to me diagramPixelAligned.afphoto Quote Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Intel i7-1360P 2.20 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Affinity Photo - 24/05/20, Affinity Publisher - 06/12/20, KTM Superduke - 27/09/10
Dan C Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Hi @Artur Owczarek, Welcome to the Affinity Forums Can you please confirm, did the above document provided by David help resolve this for you? Many thanks in advance! Quote
Artur Owczarek Posted September 2, 2021 Author Posted September 2, 2021 Sorry for late response guys. I was on vacation. @David in ЯuislipThe file you attached comes from Affinity Photo instead of Designer. It is more of a workaround than the solution. And most important to me is to know the reason for this behaviour so that I could avoid this problem in the future. Quote

The extension (.afdesign vs. .afphoto or even .afpub) makes no difference. The file format for all native Affinity files is identical & any of the 3 apps can open files created by any of the others. What does make a difference is if everything is pixel aligned or not. That's what was fixed in the file @David in Яuislip attached. Although this appears to have worked-around this issue, I don't believe that's explicitly what's causing the export to be different from the document in Affinity. There is a known bug whereby a stoke can be distorted when exported to SVG, if that stroke has been duplicated from another object and rescaled. If you open File > Export, SVG and then select the 'More...' options at the bottom of the dialog, you can tick Flatten Transforms and then export your document - you should find this issue no longer occurs lacerto and R C-R 1 1 Quote
Artur Owczarek Posted September 5, 2021 Author Posted September 5, 2021 @Dan CPerfect! Flattening Transforms did the trick and svg exported as expected. Thank you Dan C 1 Quote
