mhulot25 Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Hi, I opened affinity photo this morning and it ran an automatic update, since then the programme will not open. I just get the first screen up and then it goes. I have restarted my pc, no different I have uninstalled and then reinstalled, no different. Is there a problem with this update? If so how do I disable it? Thanks Patrick Quote
nephties Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Don't know how to start a new post but regarding the update. Just got a notice that there is an update. Downloaded it 2X each time the update prepared and then failed. SOOOO What's going on? Windows 7 Quote
Komatös Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Hello both, welcome to the forums. @nephties Make sure you have installed all available updates. If possible, I recommend upgrading to Windows 10, as driver support for Windows 7 is limited to terminated. @mhulot25 Please read here: Quote MAC mini M4 | MacOS Sequoia 15.3.2 | 16 GB RAM | 256 GB SSD AMD Ryzen 7 5700X | INTEL Arc A770 LE 16 GB | 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz | Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (26100.3194) Affinity Suite V 2.6.1 & Beta 2.6 (latest) Interested in a free (selfhosted) PDF Solution? Dan C Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Hi @mhulot25 & @nephties, Welcome to the Affinity Forums Mhulot25, if the app is crashing when launching, this may be due to your current GPU drivers - or hardware acceleration. Pleas try updating your GPU drivers by downloading the latest available directly from the manufacturer. Once installed, restart your PC and try running the app once again. Does this resolve the crashing for you? If not, please try using the OpenCL Hardware Acceleration disabler at the following thread - I hope this helps! Nephties, if the update is failing during download then this is likely caused by something local to your machine. Please try disabling any anti-virus, VPN, ad block or network monitoring software that may be blocking this download. Equally I recommend trying to download the update through a separate web browser, as this can also workaround download failures. Please do let me know if this helps! Quote
