Affinity Photo doesn’t startup a second time. The first time all works wel, but when I exit the program and after some time try to restart it, it will not restart but only after a restart of the computer. What to do?

Program on Windows 10.

Regards,

Willy

Are you actually Quitting the application or just closing all the windows? It may look like Photo has Exited/Quit but it is still running and an attempt to restart it will just show the empty space. Try Control > Open or Control > New keyboard shortcuts after you have 'restarted' Photo and nothing has happened.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

I know that can happen on Mac (especially with the menu set to hide), but I've never seen it on Windows and as far as I know the menu (at least) will always show up.

But yes, if the application never fully quit then it won't show up again when you try to start it. I would look in the Task manager and make sure that the application is not still running. Check both lists (foreground, and background applications).

It is on Windows 10. I exit the program. After some time when I will start it again it will not start. I have to restart the computer.

The Task Manager is empty: no program running.

That would be quite unusual in my experience. Unless you don't have the Task Manager configured to show details, I would at least expect some background processes to show up.

If there's a "More Details" entry at the bottom of the Task Manager window, please click on it. That should show the background processes, too, and you can look there for the application.

The program is not finished. I see this in Task Manager 'More Details'. Thank you. But how to repair it?

You're welcome.

I have no idea why it's not closing completely, but while you have it showing in Task Manager you can right-click on it and choose End Task, or click on it and then click the End Task button.

But before doing that, you might right-click and choose Create Dump File, so Serif will have something to diagnose if they don't know what's happening either. (If Create Dump File is grayed out, you may need to click on the arrow to the left of the name to expand the Task Manager entry, then right0click on the child Affinity Photo and create the dump.)
