Stargazing Eugene Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 I am working on a Mac mini M1 computer with a 1 TB drive and 16 GB RAM running Mac OS 11.5.1 using Affinity Photo V1.10. I have tried several times to use the stacking feature to create star trails and the program keeps freezing up or telling me I reached my memory limit. I am trying to stack upwards of 400 TIFF images and its just doesn't seem to want to work. Even if I reduce the number of images it still freezes up. It works fine when using Photoshop but I bought Affinity Photo thinking it could replace Photoshop but this features is just not working. Any answers to this problem??? Quote
Staff MEB Posted August 17, 2021 Staff Posted August 17, 2021 Hi @Stargazing Eugene, Welcome to Affinity Forums Just to double-check, you are using the File > New Stack command to stack 400 TIFF files correct? What's the dimensions of the TIFF files? You said that even reducing the number it still freezes the app. How many have you tried 100, more? Do you mind providing/sharing them so we can check it ourselves to see if we can reproduce the issue please? Here's an upload link you can use to send them to us. Thank you. Staff MEB Posted August 19, 2021 Staff Posted August 19, 2021 Hi @Stargazing Eugene, Can you confirm you are trying to perform a live stack (File > New Stack ) and not an astrophotography stack please (File > New Astrophotography Stack)? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Stargazing Eugene Posted August 23, 2021 Author Posted August 23, 2021 Sorry for delayed response. Yes, Using File>New Stack. Thanks Quote
