Windows 10 defender warning when downloading

Recommended Posts

I have a different issue with the latest update, It appears to fully download and then Microsoft  defender clicks in to announce that it has "   blocked  the download as it may "Seriously damage my Windows 10 Computer" I do not believe this of course , but having tried the download several times I would appreciate any constructive suggestions.

Thank you in anticipation. John Tomalin

Hi @Elgar,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble and my apologies for the delayed response here!

As I have 'split' your post from a separate thread, please make sure you are 'Following' this thread to be notified of replies.

Can you please provide a screenshot of the Windows Defender 'blocked' message you're seeing for me?

There is likely a hidden option, which we can select to allow the download to finish as expected. Many thanks in advance!

I wonder if the Defender warning is triggered by a corrupted download, since a good download has a proper digital signature with a Microsoft-recognized digital certificate?
