Live Filters Wreak Havoc with 1.10.0 update

One of the changes with 1.10.0 is that I can't use any of my old Photo files anymore.

BTW this gets even worse when you bring files with multiple artboards that have live filters in. This is specific to Photo. The documents work in Designer.

Workaround: I've created a document with all of the filters in their default state and bring that into Designer to copy and paste from so I can work.

I should add: This affects Layer Effects as well. Especially Gaussian Blur.

Hi Chris,

I made you a simple file in Designer, opened it in Photo and already saw the first issues from the Layer Effects, then added a Live Filter and broke the rest.

To test it in Photo you can just turn off the Live Filter in the First Artboard. That'll show the FX issue by itself.

 

FYI. I'm working in Publisher's Photo Persona now. As annoying as it is to set up everything there again, at least I can work.

I've tried this on 4 machines - 2 Mac's and 2 Windows and cannot reproduce it on either. I'm not sure what's going wrong here. Can I have some info about your Mac please

Same setup as I have. I get a mess if I have the Enable Metal compute acceleration checked. If I don't have it checked all is fine.

Note that that is for Photo 1.10.0 in Designer and Publisher (both versions are 1.10.0) I can have the preference checked and all is fine there. Even in Publisher's Photo Studio Link persona all is fine.

From Photo this works fine for me.

The Metal stuff is funny. Everything works in Publisher but if I open the exact same files in Photo, it's a complete mess. 

Both have the same Metal settings.

Are you switching to Photo in Publisher or remaining in the Publisher persona? Publisher will use a vector view until you switch to the Photo persona or of course switch to Photo

Trying the test file on my Mojave system and all looks well to me.
Screenshot from Photo but it looks just the same in Publisher and Designer. All three of my apps have the same performance settings.

Any chance of Affinity Photo itself ever working properly again?

It's a bit of a mess in terms of Filetypes. Everything is now a Publisher file here and it's become hard to tell at a glance which file is a layout and which file is a comp.
