Didge Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 HI, Im using AP with astro data, so sometimes the filenames are very long because they include timestamps etc, like this :- Light_NGC7293_120s_1x1_gain0_20200912-232115_0C_0001.fit The 'Status' window on the AP menu bar is always too narrow to display the entire filename, so you can't see the filename or the status icons (magnification, locked etc). Can you make the status window wider - or even better, expandable ? Regards, Gary Quote
Staff Chris B Posted August 12, 2021 Staff Posted August 12, 2021 Hi Gary, I don't seem to be having an issue with this. I've found a .fit file that has a longer name than the one you have provided and everything is there. Can you supply the file and a screenshot please? Didge Posted August 12, 2021 Author Posted August 12, 2021 Hi Chris, Thanks for your reply ... Happy to send you a file - but its 100MB ... This doesn't just happen on that file though - its the same with any file name longer than about 22 characters, it depends on the name because the characters are displayed in a proportional font. The issue becomes worse when you select the 'Large' display font of course. Attached some screen grabs for you. IIMHO - Magnification is already displayed in the Zoom box or the Navigator, so is not necessary here, because it is a display attribute, not a file attribute. It would be nice to have a toolbar widget for the Zoom, which the user could add/remove from the tool bar. Also - this doesn't always display 'Status' - usually just the name of the current document, which is already displayed in the title bar, but only if you have more than one document open. IMHO - the display pane should maintain the title bar for an open document, even if there is only one. Chers, Gary Mac OS 10.14.6AP 1.10.0 Quote
