Peter_Willard Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 So I'm using Photo and resizing bitmaps to fit into a particular area of my 1024x1024 sized bitmap... while scaling my "pasted" bitmap, the app will go non-responsive and not recover. I only have 3 layers... Nvidia GFORCE 1060 3G, Windows 10 pro, 16G ram Latest drivers (updated last week) recovery requires killing via task manager Quote
NotMyFault Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Hi, do you paste (via OS clipboard) from other apps, e.g. browser? There are older reports about issues with using this method. As workaround, you could try to save all "bitmaps" into separate files first (e.g. png or tiff), and the use File>Place to put them into your document. When copying from browser, instead save from browser to file directly (preferred option). Otherwise you may use snipping tool or even Photo (New from Clipboard, then export as PNG). Another hint: Sometimes you can simply recover from presumably hanging Photo by hitting ESC key once, if lucky this allows to save your work, but then you should end/ restart Photo to be on the safe side. Peter_Willard Posted August 10, 2021 Author Posted August 10, 2021 Thanks. I'll give these a try. Quote
Dan C Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Sorry to hear you're having trouble here @Peter_Willard! We certainly wouldn't expect the app to become unresponsive during this operation - can you please navigate to Edit > Preferences > Performance and provide a screenshot of your settings here for me? Many thanks in advance Quote
