Please can anyone help on Affinity Photo I want to bring out a guide and snap to the centre of a rectangle shape, I've gone through all the settings in snapping but can't find any of them that will snap a guide in the centre. Can this be done?

Just tested this,

In the Snapping Manager, check the box beside Snap to Object Bounding Boxes AND Include Bounding Box Midpoints .

I think that should do what you want it to. It did for me.

Dunno then just tried your exact setup and still no, just goes straight by the middle without no snap at all, I set it to just this https://prnt.sc/1m8xzbk but still nothing, maybe theres a limit to how many guides you can use on a document as I'll have around 15-20 I would think, I dunno, it's weird it won't do it on mine (all updated). Thanks anyway.

Update - Just tried it on new document and works so yeah must be cause I'm already using so many guides.

I just tried again, this time with about 10 rectangles, and it works. Just make sure your cursor is over the rectangle, and you'll see when the shape gets focus. The guide should snap.

Hi Ron, how many guides though, unsure if its the number of guides already on the document as I say I have around 15-20 already on the same document, definitely doesn't snap though. Are you bringing the guides from the left side with the move tool with the ruler showing dragging it out and having the rectangle highlighted in layers, just doesn't do it on mine.

I had 2-guides per rectangle, 1-vertical, 1-horizontal. So 10 rectangles x 2= 20 guides.

Yes, I'm dragging the guides from the rulers. I'm not sure if I'm describing it correctly. I'm not really paying any attention to the layers panel. It's when I'm dragging a guide, when my cursor gets over a square, there's a thin border that sort of highlights the rectangle, so you know it's the object that is receiving the focus. Then when I"m at the center of the rectangle, you can tell it's snapped, and the guide changes color.
