affinitynumpty Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Long time Indesign user here. Had Affinity for a while and keep trying Affinity products only to get confused and give up. This new one has me stumped, am I doing something wrong? In indesign, when I import an eps file or Tif. It has no background and I can colour the background of the box it goes into and the file inside is transparent. In Affinity Publisher, not so. When I import an eps file or Tif file, the background remains transparent no matter if I colour the background of the box. What am I doing wrong? Quote
firstdefence Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Maybe indesign automatically creates a placeholder box and stores the logos in that, in Affinity, You may have to manually add the logos file to a placeholder box or create a rectangle, and make the logos a child of the rectangle, you can colour the rectangles fill to get the same effect? affinitynumpty 1 Quote iMac 27" 2019 Sequoia 15.0 (24A335), iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more... affinitynumpty Posted August 10, 2021 Author Posted August 10, 2021 40 minutes of faffing and one youtube later. There is a button "Called clear fill on populate". It seems on by default. I am determined to give Affinity a better go but these little things do my head in as it's not obvious or intuitive, well to me anyway. Quote
firstdefence Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 That does seem a bit obscure to me but I'm not a big user of Affinity Publisher, another lesson learned.
