I'm trying to get my head around Base Line Grids and Leading when used in combination with each other.
Are there any fundamental rules to use to get the leading to line up with the Base Line Grid?

From experiments I know that, not all combinations of leading work with a given Base Line Grid.
So I was wondering how you guy's go about it. Are there any known combinations or is it by trial and error.

Forgive my ignorance I'm still learning about this stuff.
Any help or explanation would be appreciated.

Thanks
Dai

Use a smaller Leading size and your text will line up with the grid. 10 on 11 with a Baseline grid of 12 will look like 10 on 12. Some fonts will mess up with 10 on 12 and a 12 point grid, I don't know why. If you have that just knock the leading down a fraction of a point. Worth pointing out that I use a leading setting of Exactly x points. No Percent or default or lines or multiples.

There is the situation where you can have 1 point for space after a paragraph and this could make the following paragraph jump to two 'lines' instead of one plus one point.

The use I put this baseline grid to is to make sure that the text on the top of a page and the bottom of a page will line up with the top and bottom of the previous/following page. If there is an image or heading or break of any kind in the flow of the text on one page (like your document) then the text will line up properly on the top and the bottom.

Affinity Designer 2.5.7 | Affinity Photo 2.5.7 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.7 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Thanks for the advice. They certainly don't work exact and it does take small refinements to get things working the way you want them.
Got my head around it a bit more, just need to experiment more on it.
