pstrjds Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 System information is included in the attached zip file. Also includes the document I was working on and the related files as a designer package. Steps to reproduce. Open the designer document. On Artboard 2 there is group called Map. Expand that group and select the "Open Street Map" text box. Adjust the opacity of the box and then click Save. The Application just crashes, although it does appear to have saved the change to the opacity. Designer.1.10.Crash.Info.zip Quote
pstrjds Posted August 9, 2021 Author Posted August 9, 2021 So I am able to reliably reproduce this on my system. Basically, since upgrading to version 1.10, any time I "Save" after making a change causes the application to crash. Note, this does not happen when "Exporting" to a different format, it is explicitly when clicking "Save". Quote

Can't get it to crash no matter what changes I make to the document Windows 8.1 Designer 1.10 Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. pstrjds Posted August 9, 2021 Author Posted August 9, 2021 Well it might be related to OS/Graphics driver combo. My Windows 10 also just updated and I noticed over the past couple days that I get a system freeze once in a while if watching a YouTube video. So it very well may be isolated to my system. I noticed your post says you are on Windows 8.1, so that could definitely be a difference. Quote

Komatös Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Hi @pstrjds Please try the Microsoft dotNET repair tool. If that does'nt help scan with sfc if there windows components that needs repaired To do so make a right click on Windows start menu button. Chose command prompt (as administrator). Type sfc /scannow in the command windows. Staff Sean P Posted August 9, 2021 Staff Posted August 9, 2021 Hi pstrjds, Thanks for the files and video. Like carl123 I also cannot reproduce this on my machine and unfortunately the crash reports isn't showing anything immediately obvious to me. However what I did notice was that in your video you aren't using a package file. With the package file you cannot save back into it so I can't so a straight File > Save. Even doing Save As doesn't fail, and neither does reloading that and doing File > Save. Would it be possible for you to just attach the afdesign you're opening up please? As you've sent the package I should have all the other files I require! Thanks. Quote

Staff Sean P Posted August 9, 2021 Staff Posted August 9, 2021 Thanks for that! I've tried with your afdesign and it does seem to still be saving ok for me as well! Quote

I can no longer reproduce the error, so I think we can mark this as closed. Must have been something with my system. Komatös 1 Quote
