Digital Trickster Posted August 7, 2021 Posted August 7, 2021 Hi Affinity Designer 1.10 will not always open from the splash screen. I using Windows 10 latest update. Sometimes it take 2 or 3 attempts to load then takes a while to become fully operational Quote
Dan C Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Hi @Digital Trickster, Sorry to hear you're having trouble! I can confirm there is a known issue that causes Affinity Designer to crash when certain assets are installed, and I suspect this may be the issue you're reporting here. To resolve this, I'd like to try resetting your app to default settings. You can reset your app back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open. Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc. Does the app now load each time correctly for you please? Quote
Digital Trickster Posted August 12, 2021 Author Posted August 12, 2021 Hi Dan That seems to have worked OK. I am presuming that I won't have to do this each time I have a problem at startup. Thank you for your time Dan C 1 Quote

You certainly shouldn't need to do this on each launch, we believe the issue is caused by an old Affinity supplied resource (iOS 11 asset pack) - so I recommend making sure you don't reinstall this pack through the My Account function within the app Quote

Is it any better if the asset pack is downloaded manually vs. via the My Account function? Also, what is the difference between the 3MB "iOS 11 UI Kit" & the 2.9MB "Affinity iOS11" item in the Downloads & product keys section of the Affinity Store? In the My Account list both the 'parent' kit item & its 'child' "Affinity iOS11" item say the size is 2.8MB. As far as I understand it, this affects both OS's and is caused by downloading the kit through the My Account feature - I don't believe the same crash occurs with manual installation. 15 hours ago, R C-R said: Also, what is the difference between the 3MB "iOS 11 UI Kit" & the 2.9MB "Affinity iOS11" item in the Downloads & product keys section of the Affinity Store? I hope this clears things up R C-R 1 Quote
