johnleonard
Been working on a project and just updated the app. Now getting horrible screen tearing and random image duplication and shifts whenever I try and do almost anything, really. I need to revert to the previous version. Any advice? Affinity Photo 1.10.0. Ron P.
Hi @johnleonard, and welcome to the forums. Where did you purchase it? Direct from Serif (Affinity), or Mac-App Store? If you purchased from Serif, you should have an account there. Just go HERE, and login. You can also find them through THIS LINK However if you purchased from the Mac App Store, you can not revert to an older version. You will need to contact the MAS store. Please read this to see if it might help. Quote Affinity Photo 2.3..; Affinity Designer 2.3..; Affinity Publisher 2.3..; Affinity2 Beta versions. Retrieve the previous version of the app from your Time Machine backup. LondonSquirrel
Time Machine backups are one thing, and I have two of them running. I also run my own independent backups using rsync. But before updating certain key apps that absolutely must work for me, I rename the old app so that I can go back to it very quickly. I also keep versions of my key files in a backup directory according to date, so that if necessary I can go back to the old version of the app and the last known-to-work version of the file. Quite simply put, over the years I have been bitten by upgrades which didn't work quite as expected. Coupled with that (minor?) changes in file structures which meant I couldn't open a file in which I have done nothing except hit the 'save' button, but that was sufficient to render the file unreadable by an older version of the app. My advice: keep an older version of the app installed until you are absolutely sure the new version works as expected. And while using the new version, keep a backup of your old files too. EDIT: from the screenshot below, it should be clear that APub is more important to me than AD or Aphoto. J.
