Chris Andreae Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 I am sure this is an easy task for most. I have a greyscale image onto which I wish to put some coloured shapes/lettering. Copying/pasting the latter removes any colour they have. Perhaps there is a little YouTube film which addresses the subject more generally. many thanks Chris Quote
GarryP Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 You can’t use colour in a greyscale image. Greyscale images can only contain shades of grey (and black and white). However, you can change the colour format/profile via Document Setup (and maybe other ways, depending on which Affinity application you are using). Quote
Chris Andreae Posted August 4, 2021 Author Posted August 4, 2021 Many thanks indeed. I did not know where to look and only vaguely what i was looking for! Still in the foothills. Quote
Old Bruce Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 Make a new RGB or CMYK document of the appropriate size (same as your greyscale image) place your greyscale image in it, it will be greyscale but you can now use colours as well. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
