Hello everyone,

My Master Pages problem:

I double click on the Master Pages in the navigation panel on the left, but they do not turn up in the main window.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

HI @ronald618,

You can click on this:

Is it the Beta or the retail version? (Strangely, I don't have anymore the bottom bar with pages' numbers and "click... infos" in the last Beta on Windows...) but using "tab" to hide and display the UI was the solution.

Your screenshot shows a blue outline around the Master Page, which should indicate you only did a single click, not a double click. Spread 1 (below that) has the gray highlight that indicates it is the current page, and is what is showing in the main part of the workspace.

Walt, thank you for your help.

But that is exactly how the pages look when I double click on the master page in the navigation panel: there's a blue outline around the Master page and a gray highlight on Spread 1.

I tried clicking on the icon that @wosven (thank you Wosven) suggested.

That brings up the Master pages but then the rest of the spread below disappears. See screenshot.

I'm on the latest version of Publisher. I didn't have this problem with the previous version.

System: Mac OS Big Sur 11.5

I need to complete a small project and need to resolve this.

Anyway thank you both for you quick reply. What should I do next?

That's exactly what should happen. You cannot see both the Master Page and the document pages, if that's what you're trying to do.

So, Wosven's suggestion worked. Double clicking does not for some reason.

Once long ago I had set up my OS preferences to register a double click with a very short time between clicks, some applications had difficulty registering double clicks because of that. I would suggest checking to see if you have (inadvertently) set up a too short interval in the mouse/trackpad/graphics tablet for the time between double clicks.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

My apologies for being partially wrong, too.

In the Pages panel, whether you single or double click on a Master Page, it gets a blue outline. This is distinct from working with the document pages, where a single click gives the blue outline and a double-click gives the gray outline.

However, if you double-click on a Master Page in the Pages panel, you should see that none of the document pages has the gray outline any more.

Single click on the Master Page: the Master Page has the blue outline, and the current document page has the gray outline:

Double click on the Master Page: the Master Page has the blue outline, there is no current document page:

It still appears that you have only done a single click on the Master, as your screenshot matches my first screenshot.

@ronald618, what happens if while the main window is stuck showing document page(s) you right-click on the Master page in the Pages panel & select "Go to Spread" from the menu that pops up?

On my Mac running Catalina that switches the main window to the Master page/spread.
