BetoTex Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 in AFPHOTO I've imported a psd file featuring a compound (composto) group containing curve layers to subtract from other curve layers. It turns out that they show an icon at the right indicating subtract or add features. How do I get this? tried everything... on the 2d image attached I placed the composto group above the pixel layer and so the selected subtract curve layer shows up hiding pixels from the pixel layer beneath it... I want this solution for other composites. thanx in advance from Brazil. Quote
Alfred Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @BetoTex. In Affinity Designer you can Alt-click on a Geometry icon to create a Compound object/layer from the selected shapes but this option doesn’t seem to be available in Affinity Photo. telemax 1 Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.5.1 (iPad 7th gen)
BetoTex Posted July 31, 2021 Author Posted July 31, 2021 Not quite. That procedure supresses all the curve layers into one. In my case, I want them to stand with a switchable icon! Would it be a hidden feature or just available when imported. I mean what would actually make that icon appear? Quote

BetoTex Posted July 31, 2021 Author Posted July 31, 2021 Done! just had to press "alt" + subtract to create that compound. Thanks Quote

You can add the Geometry icons to the AP toolbar like @telemax showed, but even if you do not, in AP's Layer > Geometry submenu if you hold down the alt/option key not only does that create compounds but at least on Macs, "(Compound)" is appended to the first 4 submenu items so you know what that will do. Unlike Designer, there is no related Help topic for Photo. The feature is currently missing from Photo on iPad, so I’ve submitted a feature request for that.
