If it's not difficult for anyone, poke me into an explanatory tutorial on the "Edit All" tool.

Through trial and error, I have not figured out how it works and what it affects.

I think it requires Artboards or Layer layers, and is usually meaningful only if you're working on a Designer document.

This only works with a special layer created in Affinity Designer. This allows you to work with many objects in a particular layer, ignoring everything except this layer. This way you can work with a very complex design without being afraid of accidentally moving objects on the bottom layers.

I hope the Live preview of blending modes is fixed.
it was broken in .1115 so had to guess when having to choose the one that fit.

I see that the artefacts in the Gaussian Blur & Frequency Separation filters are still present in this beta build if hardware acceleration is enabled. This worked fine in build 1035 (see my posts on May 12th this year).

Now it is clear. And I at AP tried to figure out how the tool works, and did not see the difference. It turns out I tried the wrong program. Thanks for the answer. Help is not always enough to understand what works and how.

Fetched and tested, no major problem found here.
well i don't use everything but i'm happy to see that pugin detection system is much better now, I can send work to apps Luminar do some tune up then get back to Aphoto for complementary stuffs then exports, Yet, it is still destructive but at least it works with less tricks and pain.
Zoom refresh is working much better than the latest 2 builds, i have a GPU that have not the acceleration but I feel at home.

So, Thanks Team.

Yeah that would be great but I'm finding it's your last two "retail" versions that keep crashing, not the BETA.

Why have I got to disable hardware acceleration for a fix(which didn't work on 1.9)?

Can't you just give us a photo editor that works so that we don't have to find out it doesn't the hard way?

Faced artifacts when zooming an image with multiple layers and masks. Artifacts in the form of transparent squares. Nvidia Studio drivers, latest, Win 10.

One that shows up as (Layer) in the Layers panel, created by Layer > New Layer or the Add Layer icon in the Layers panel.

That function and that kind of object is not available in Photo; you must use Designer or Publisher to get one, using a file or Asset created from one of those applications.

(Or an Artboard, in the case of Designer.)

Walt explained the detail above, but I can add, this layer is a "container" type that works as a group, only a little differently. That's why I wrote "special"

Either Artboard, or Layer (with capital L) layer, as I described above.

What a confusion: Special layer, Layer layer, container, Artboard...

I hope Affinity will raise Artboards on higher level in v. 2.0 and give them a separate panel with the same rang as "Pages" in Publisher.

After all, pages, artboards... are all substrates or canvases which designers use to place the elements of their artworks on specific layers.

"Special" layer is not a formal term; just something that @telemax picked.

The option we're discussing (Edit All Layers) works with Artboard and Layer objects, not with other objects.

The confusing aspect generated this thread is that having Artboards or Layers in Photo is unusual, as they are not usually present in documents created by Photo. The icon is really only in the interface at all, for Photo, in case one transfers a Designer document to Photo (File > Edit in Photo) or one uses the the Designer or Photo Personas of Publisher to work on a document with Layers or Artboards.

I'm not talking about artboards in Photo. I just hope they will remove them in Designer from Layers panel and add a new "Artboard" panel as they deserve. So, they would not be just a layer named "Artboard nnn" in Layers panel anymore. Instead of tenants, they must be landlords and have their own tenats (layers).

Artboards tend to only be handy if you're importing into Designer, which I've had to do for features Designer does not support... (such as pattern layers)... I woulldn't mind having them in Photo though. I welcomed the addition in Photoshop. I've used Artboards to create sprite files with "splices" and to do batch exports. This is ideal because it's primarily rastor. For example, theme creation that needs constant updating and uploading for tests. One spec I used required 80 images and it's very painful to have to open individually and export. Especially if they are global color swaps.

Sprite images are used a lot in webdesign as well. It is odd that Photo supports with no real indicators of what exactly an artboard is, but at least it allows you to update them for compatibility.

Guys, is there is a way to fix zoom ratio when zooming in or out with mouse wheel? To work the same way as it work with Cntrl "+" or Cntrl "-" from keyboard?

You can scale with the mouse if you hold down the Ctrl key and rotate the mouse wheel.

Why are you asking this in the announcement topic for an obsolete and downlevel beta version of Photo, rather than in the general Questions part of the forums?
