Help with Macros in Develop Persona

Recommended Posts

I have a pretty standard routine for developing RAW images. I'd like to build a macro to automate a portion of my routine. Macros do not appear to work in this context which seems crazy since bringing in a bunch of raw images is the perfect place for some automation. Any ideas?

Hello @jmcsys, and welcome to the forums.

Sorry, but Affinity Does not have any macro facilities for raw development. The nearest you can get is to use presets, but these only act on individual actions, not on the full  development process. My only suggestion is for you to see what actions could be done in the Photo persona, where you can automate with a macro.

Thank you John,

You description of things is pretty much what I've discovered. Pitty. I think it's great to be able to use Macros in the Photo Persona. But I do believe the developers got it backward. In Photo, you explore all sorts of creative ideas. Photo is all about possibility and discovery. It is unpredictable. While Macros are about strict regimens and unvarying process. Just the kind of stuff you need in the largely predictable Develop.
