Hi.

Publisher is slow. I've searched the forum and there are tons of this similar problem. I couldn't read all. And there's not thread that says "Problem solved. Click here!"

I hope some can assistance, even a little. I'm running on a pc notebook with 11 Gb RAM.

Sometimes it goes over 2000 MB memory. This program is the only one went beyond 3 figures. At first, Im like 'whatever, man'. But it starts crawling. It is playing catch up with my mouse and keyboard shortcuts. I think it is clear Publisher is struggling with memory management issue.

Ironically, I'm working on a book  - it's about looking at problems and solving them. Currently, I'm just setting the Master Pages only.

Hope to hear from the Affinity Team soon.

How much total memory does your PC have and how many pages is your book currently.

Also does it have images (if so, what percentage of pages have images)

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Total 11Gb. The book as of now = 100 pages. All uses format from Master. Like a low content book, you see.

As @carl123 asked, does your book have images? If so are they linked  or embedded? If they are embedded, try converting them to linked.

Just add to what's been said here @Ian Tan, also please do also try the beta that @Komatös has liked to.  The beta has had a number of improvements and should be quicker.  As it is a beta, i'd always recommend creating a copy of your main afpub file and opening the copy in the beta.

Just curious, but how can you configure a notebook with 11 GB of RAM? Typically, the smallest RAM module for current & recent systems is 2 GB, & above that they come in increments like 4, 8, 16, or 32 GB.
