I am using Affinity Pro (v. 1.9.3) for the Mac (OS 10.15.7) and trying to edit an image using the frequency separation filter (following the video of James Ritson posted on August 4 2017).  While the tool was working earlier today, it has not stopped.  I have restarted the mac, etc etc, but it does not work.  I have tried it on another image, without frequency separation, and it works fine.

Please can you help?

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

It would help to have a pointer (URL) to the video, so we don't have to search for it.

Also, it would help to have a screenshot of your Photo complete application window, including the Layers panel, so we can see a bit of what you're doing.

Not too experienced in frequency separation, but I noticed you seem to be working in an invisible layer.

Could that be the cause of the challenge you're facing?

As far as I can see it's because you're trying to use the Clone Brush Tool on the High Frequency layer which, though selected, is unchecked and is thus invisible. You probably  need to select the Low Frequency layer before you'll see any change to your image. Again, a link to the James Ritson video you've referred to would make it easier for other forum members to work out what you're attempting to do.

Not at all - sometimes it just needs a second pair of eyes. ☺️
