BCC Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 I am using Affinity Pro (v. 1.9.3) for the Mac (OS 10.15.7) and trying to edit an image using the frequency separation filter (following the video of James Ritson posted on August 4 2017). While the tool was working earlier today, it has not stopped. I have restarted the mac, etc etc, but it does not work. I have tried it on another image, without frequency separation, and it works fine. Please can you help? Quote
walt.farrell Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums. It would help to have a pointer (URL) to the video, so we don't have to search for it. Also, it would help to have a screenshot of your Photo complete application window, including the Layers panel, so we can see a bit of what you're doing. BCC Posted July 29, 2021 Author Posted July 29, 2021 Thanks Walt! Here is the link to show what I have been doing. As you can see the clone too does not seem to work. Many thanks again! https://www.loom.com/share/2a2e2b7b0e38435aaabad1f56b27119a Quote
RM f/g Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 Not too experienced in frequency separation, but I noticed you seem to be working in an invisible layer. Could that be the cause of the challenge you're facing? stokerg 1 Quote Macbook Pro mid 2015, 16 GB, double barrel: MacOS Mojave + Affinity 1 (+ Adobe’s CS6)/ MacOS Monterey + Affinity 2
h_d Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 As far as I can see it's because you're trying to use the Clone Brush Tool on the High Frequency layer which, though selected, is unchecked and is thus invisible. You probably need to select the Low Frequency layer before you'll see any change to your image. Again, a link to the James Ritson video you've referred to would make it easier for other forum members to work out what you're attempting to do. stokerg 1 Quote Affinity Photo 2.6.3, Affinity Designer 2.6.3 Affinity Publisher 2.6.3, Mac OSX 15.5, 2018 MacBook Pro 15" Intel.
