Sounds like you are trying to install using an exe file not a dmg file. You have to download the version for Mac, you can't use the windows version unless you install windows OS to bootcamp or run a virtual windows and install a windows version to those.

@jennviviadia As @firstdefence states .exe are for installing on Windows (VM/Bootcamp or system), for macOS you need to use the .dmg version. Can you confirm if this is a trial version or purchased version as if you are wanting to run on macOS you may need to get a refund for the Windows version. Then you can purchase the macOS version direct from our Affinity Store or the Mac App Store.
