Affinity Publisher: Custom TOC styles not working

I'm trying to create a TOC, and when I select my styles for it, they don't stick.

I pick the styles I want, click "Insert TOC," and I get a "No table of contents entries found" error, and the styles auto-revert to Heading 1 and Heading 2. I can't figure out how to make it use my styles of choice for a TOC.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

Specifically about that message, a common cause is having the TOC after the headings you want to use. If that's the problem try the "Include entries before TOC" option in the TOC panel.

if that's not the problem, it would help to have a sample .afpub file that shows the problem.

But they're not exporting to PDF bookmarks. Any idea what I'm doing wrong there?

 

(Nevermind. Got it working. No idea what happened.)
