Caroline Beaudry Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 Hi everyone, Every time I try to export a Publisher spread in pdf, I get a pdf filled with strange characters as you can see in the attachments. Any idea what causes this? Thank you very much and best! Quote
Dan C Posted July 29, 2021 Posted July 29, 2021 Hi @Caroline Beaudry, Welcome to the Affinity Forums Can you please confirm for me: What font are you using in your document? What PDF export settings are in use? (a screenshot of these settings, including the 'More...' options would be perfect) Does this happen with every document, or only the one shown in the above image? Many thanks in advance! Quote
Caroline Beaudry Posted July 29, 2021 Author Posted July 29, 2021 Hi Dan, Thank you so much for your quick reply. The font used is Gibson. It does happen with every document. I've attached the screenshots of the settings. Thanks so much for your help! Quote

But I am not sure it helps in your case. Quote ------ Windows 10 | i5-8500 CPU | Intel UHD 630 Graphics | 32 GB RAM | Latest Retail and Beta versions of complete Affinity range installed

Caroline Beaudry Posted July 29, 2021 Author Posted July 29, 2021 Hi Joachim, I'm using OTF. Thank you1 Quote

Dan C Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 Thanks for confirming that for me @Caroline Beaudry & my apologies for the delayed response here! I can verify that I downloaded and installed Gibson-regular from the following link, then installed this through Windows. (https://freefontsvault.com/gibson-font-download-free/) I created a test document in Publisher, using Filler Text ('Expanded' into regular body text), then exported this to PDF using the same settings shown above. The resultant document appears correctly in multiple PDF viewers, with the font glyphs correctly displayed - Can you please confirm for me, did any of the above suggestions help resolve this issue for you? When you open the PDF file in Adobe Reader and look at the Fonts tab in the Document Properties dialog, what does it tell you about the font type and encoding?
