I am making several documents all with the same layout. I would like to use the same master in all of them but can't seem to find a way of copying the first master into all the others. I tried Ctrl C + Ctrl V but it just pastes the master pages into the document as if it was a text box. Is there something I am missing?

Make new copies of the document, either via Finder/Explorer in the operating system or ‘Save As…’ within Publisher. Then use a different one of those as your starting point for each of your collection of documents.

Thanks Alfred

Unfortunately I already did by files beforehand in different formats and am now trying to get them all consistent. I thought perhaps I could just import the master to speed things up.

I did wonder whether you were trying format existing documents rather than new ones! Copying and pasting should work, but I think you need to create a new master page in each document and paste the common content into it.

Document > Add pages from file

Just add 1 page from the source document and any master pages attached to that page will also be added to the destination document

You can then delete the added page and the master pages will remain

Then just assign the master page(s) to whatever pages you want them attached to in the destination document
