Immediate crash upon ok following stitched Panorama

The tool crashes immediately upon pressing OK when having stitched a set of photos in a panorama. I.e. the program is able to select and stitch the photos and provide a preview. However, upon pressing OK it crashes almost immediately. The only work-around is to disable hardware-acceleration

6 images of 22Megapixel

Virtual Machine:

Windows 10 Pro - 10.0.19043

Processor    Intel(R) Xeon(R) Silver 4214 CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2195 Mhz, 12 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s)

Installed Physical Memory (RAM)    32,0 GB

Tesla T4 - Driver version 461.33 --> Card directly associated with VM

Software:

  • issue occurs on both the latest release as well as the Beta ( 1.9.2.1035 & 1.10.0.1115)
  • is repeatable with different sets of images
  • occurs every time

Hello @Mici and welcome to the forums.

Congratulations, you found the solution yourself.

This is not a solution, that's a work-around! Working on large Panoramas without HW acceleration is a no go. Even a piece of free-ware like the gimp is able to use HW acceleration on this setup. So please contribute with something more helpful.

Hardware acceleration is a new function that was only introduced with version 1.9 and unfortunately does not work with every hardware combination at the moment.

So it is the only solution at the moment.

Perhaps you could also give the latest Beta a shot. A lot of improvements with regard to HW acceleration have been implemented. Runs fine for me.

You can download from this link:

Success!
