Hi, I'm still a loyal user of FreHand MX, and the closest thing to changing my software is without a doubt affinity, but there are still things that I can't do, like finding the option to place the guides in front of or behind my figures as required My request, I will appreciate clearing my doubt so that I can make the transition to Affinity as best as possible. Regards, Rino from Chile

Guides in Affinity are not placed on a layer, they are an overlay, distinct and separate from layer hierarchy so they sit above everything. The only way you could achieve what you want would be to draw out lines with the pen tool and place them in a group called guides and lock them so you don't accidentally move them.

The guides can be hidden/shown if necessary using keyboard shortcuts. If the guides are under objects, they are still not visible.
