How to make a new layer from a pixel selection?

Dear all,

I am a MacBook Pro user and tried now Affinity on the iPad Pro. I made a pixel selection from the red channel and I want to create a new layer out of it. So far, I found no button to do this. On my MacBook I simply would press command and J but as I have no keyboard I struggle here a little. Any Idea / help?

Having made a pixel selection in the Selections persona, go to the Photo persona and make sure that the pixel layer is active. There’s a ‘Duplicate Selection’ option on the menu that pops up when you long-press on the canvas (using your finger, not an Apple Pencil); alternatively, choose the ‘Duplicate Selection’ option on the Commands (‘…’) menu.
