Converting curves to selection in Affinity Designer

When I select a curve/shape and then go to the Pen Tool, there is no option to create a selection on the Context Tool Bar.

If I press CTRL and click on the icon in the layer panel it doesn't create a selection.

How do I fix this or create a selection from a curve/shape some other way?

The Mask/Selection button in the context toolbar are only available in Affinity Photo, not Designer. To create a selection of the shape from its layer (pressing CTRL) you must be in Pixel Persona.

Thank you; using CTRL in Pixel Persona works fine.
