Hey everyone I don’t know if affinity photo has this but I just came over from photoshop and in photoshop I was able to put a curves layer down and then hit alt and it will effect the bottom layer only is that something that is in affinity photo I apologize if this is in the wrong location

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)
Two ways you can do this in Affinity Photo:
1- drag the curves adjustment layer over the thumbnail of the pixel layer you want it nested to (so it only affects that pixel layer) - you should see a small vertical blue marker on the right of the thumbnail when you are in the correct position.
2- with the curves adjustment layer selected (and top top of the pixel layer), right-click the curves adjustment layer in the Layers panel and select Mask to below.

You can also set the application to always add adjustments as child layers of the selected layer. To do it go to menu View > Assistant Manager, and in the Adding adjustment layer to selection dropdown set it to Add adjustment as child layer.
