HockingHippy Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 I'm having an issue where when I create a bulleted list and a second line occurs due to word wrap, there is no space between the two lines. I can't figure out where or how to get the appropriate spacing I need for a marketing piece. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I know it's something super simple. TIA Quote
MikeTO Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 You need to increase Paragraph > Spacing > Leading. Old Bruce Posted July 26, 2021 Posted July 26, 2021 this is because you have the type size and the leading set to (made up numbers) 10 on 12 and you have a space between (after and or before) paragraphs of 12 points. So each bulleted item is a new one line paragraph which has 24 points between them and the lines inside a paragraph have only 12 points between them. Increase the leading. HockingHippy Posted July 27, 2021 Author Posted July 27, 2021 Hi guys, thanks for your input but I'm still having troubles with this. I'm attaching a copy of my work in publisher so you can see. There's so much that I like about Affinity that I really want to see this through. Thanks for the help provided and I'm hoping I can get a bit more when someone sees the actual Publisher file. I got the bulleted list cleared up but now having issues with the un-bullet headings that wrap with no space between them. linecard19.afpub Quote
Mark Oehlschlager Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 @HockingHippy The thing that is tripping you up is the annoying little trap that Affinity has set for you: the fact that they have included a "Leading Override" attribute in the Character Panel, which is not the same thing as the "Leading" attribute in the Paragraph Panel. This is what you've set up: Headings: Face, Arial Bold; Size, 15pt; Leading, 3x; Leading Override, 12pt; Space After Paragraph, 8pt List Item: Face Arial; Size 12 pt; Leading, 3x; Leading Override, 12pt; Space After Paragraph, 3pt This is what it would look like with the Leading Override cleared, and the Leading set to exact point measurements in the Paragraph Panel: Heading: Face, Arial Bold; Size, 15pt; Leading, 15pt; Leading Override, Auto; Space Before Paragraph, 10pt; Space After Paragraph, 5pt; Use Space Before, "Only Between Paragraphs" List Item: Face Arial; Size 12pt; Leading, 12pt; Leading Override, Auto; Space After Paragraph, 3pt I'm assuming that you want the list items that wrap to maintain 12pts of leading, and that you want an additional 3pt of leading between list items. By setting the Leading Override attribute to "Auto" you let the true Leading value in the Paragraph Panel to apply. Use the Space Before and the Space After attributes in the Paragraph Panel to add lead before and after each paragraph if desired. I've recreated your list with two paragraph styles: Heading, and List Item. Study the attachment below. linecard19.afpub HockingHippy 1 Quote

Thanks for stepping up to help out. I was able to get my bulleted list sorted out but still trying to work out a couple other bugs. Quote
