juliep Posted July 25, 2021 Posted July 25, 2021 Hello, I have googled and searched through this forum but haven't been able to find the exact answer to my question. From a point of view of backing up my Windows laptop, if something were to happen, I could reinstall AP, BUT, I would then need to reinstall the plugins I've added in plus the macros I've created. I believe that these would be all I'd really need to back up, although if there's a way to backup the pgm, including my customisation, then that could work too. I guess I'm looking for files that I should backup & their locations. Thanks 🙂 Julie. Quote
walt.farrell Posted July 25, 2021 Posted July 25, 2021 The plugins are in the directory you installed them in, and that you told Affinity Photo to use in Preferences, Photoshop Plugins. So you should be able to backup that directory. For the macros: The FAQ article below describes where to find the "user" directory, and all the things it contains. There may be more than macros and plugins that you want to backup: Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. juliep Posted July 28, 2021 Author Posted July 28, 2021 Thanks so much Walt. My backup strategy is quite poor. I need to improve it! Kind regards, Julie 🙂 Quote
juliep Posted July 28, 2021 Author Posted July 28, 2021 P.S........ In the end the plugins were where they should be. To backup the macros, I actually exported them all from the library panel in AP. I did the same thing with brushes. thanks 🙂 Quote
