I purchased Affinity Designer/Photo through the Microsoft store a while ago. Recently I realized that it wasn't updating to 1.9+, which is preventing me from working with someone. So after many failed attempts to update, I decided to uninstall and reinstall. Unfortunately, it's failing to install at all now, and the entire Microsoft store is no long working properly. So, I was wondering if there was some way to transfer that product key/license from Microsoft to the Affinity website so that I could download it from here instead. Or maybe I can download the trial through the website and there is some way to register the product in the application? Any alternative suggestions would also be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums @Schubydoo

Licences are not transferable between stores – you need to download/update from where you purchased.
Try asking Microsoft why you can’t access/update the product(s) you have paid for.

Note: Serif can't do anything about Microsoft store problems.

If you're having issues with the Microsoft Store then Microsoft should be able to help. Or possibly you need to refresh your Windows 10 installation. (Note that refreshing will delete any applications you have installed that did not come from the Microsoft Store and will need to be reinstalled.)

Hi @Schubydoo,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

If you're having trouble with the Microsoft Store, there are 2 reset options we can try, which will clear the cache for the Store and hopefully allow you to download Affinity successfully!

Can you please follow the steps at the below link, trying the reset through Windows Settings first, and if that does not help then try running the WSreset.exe through the run command -

https://www.thewindowsclub.com/reset-windows-store-cache

Does this allow you to install the app as expected please?

Many thanks in advance!
