I’ve recently been getting into using Affinity as my go to image editor, but I’m struggling with the overly tools.  It would seem a bug reported many years ago is still present.

https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/73924-developer-persona-brush-and-erase-performance/ This forum post is the same issue I’m having but were in 2021, surely this is fixed can someone help me as the previous person stated the tool is useless if this is the current state of it’s development

TIA

As a workaround i would suggest to completely  ignore the overlay tool from develop persona.

Instead, use the Photo Persona and the available adjustments (all from dev persona have equivalents), in combination with masks (more capable replacement for overlay tool). Most users go this way as it provides the additional benefit of non-destructive workflow.

I use iPad screenshots and videos even in the Desktop section of the forum when I expect no relevant difference.

Hi @LBT-UK,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

I can confirm that this issue is unfortunately not yet marked as resolved in our internal development log, my sincerest apologies.

I'll be sure to 'bump' this report for you now and request an investigation regarding this - to see if we can speed up the resolution.

I hope this helps & many thanks for your report!
