TeslaGurl Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 Is anyone else having major issues with Affinity Photo being really slow? I can't get anything done! I have tried multiple restarts, uninstall/reinstall program, and multiple computers...I am not having any luck and have to eventually force quit the application. Quote
Dan C Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 Hi @TeslaGurl, Welcome to the Affinity Forums Can you please confirm for me; Are you using Mac, Windows or iPad? What is your workflow in Affinity? (ie developing RAW files, importing PSD files?) At what point is the application running slow for you? Is this happening when loading your document, when using the pixel manipulation tools, or simply most of the time with the app open? As you've tried this on multiple computers and have seen similar issues, it would help to know the specifications of the computers tested. Please also include this information if possible. Many thanks in advance! Quote
TeslaGurl Posted July 22, 2021 Author Posted July 22, 2021 Hi, I have 2 Macs...first is 21.5 2019 (3GHz processor & 8GB memory) and second is a MacBook Air 2013 (1.3 GHz and 4GB memory). This is a new issue as normally it runs fine on both. I didn't have any other apps open as I thought it was a computer issue. I am placing pdf files (saved from another program) and cropping them to make my photos for my website. The application seems to open ok but as soon as I open an existing file or start a new one it slows down. I hope this is enough information! Thanks! ~Amy Quote
Dan C Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 Many thanks for confirming that Amy! Can you please open Affinity Photo > Preferences > Performance and provide a screenshot of your settings here? 4 hours ago, TeslaGurl said: I am placing pdf files (saved from another program) and cropping them to make my photos for my website. How many PDF files are you placing in total? Does this issue happen regardless of which PDF is placed, or does it always seem to begin once a certain file is introduced to your document? If you place a different file, does the same issue occur? Quote
