How to delete all color palettes besides own?

Recommended Posts

`if you click the so-called 'Hamburger' pull-down at the top of the Swatches Panel there's an option to Delete Palette.

I haven't tried it myself...

Normally you cannot delete Pantone palettes. I never tried what happens, when I delete the files in C:\Program Files\Affinity\Publisher\Resources\Pantone or the folder itself.

Thanks. I tried to rename this folder. Now it shows only my palette but without name.

Good to know. I don't bother if there is no name in the pulldown, as long MY default palette is selected.

Because by default they create problems

Just curious but what problems do the built-in color palettes cause for you?

1. First reason. Problem that Publisher does not remember my default palette. I already have registered bug. But nobody knows when it will be solved: in near future or throught 1-2 years.

2. All "blacks" colors from Grey palette really not black colors and with export creates problems. No one profile recognizes that these are black colors. (Screenshot of PDF file). Grey palette is unusable. If you can replace it in next releases by really Black (0-0-0-100).

This is not a black color.

3. If i create document with CMYK profile i want to see only CMYK colors but not HLS by default. HLS-colors for me are unusable.

It will be better to leave only one palette with 4 main colors, Black, White and give possibility for users to add right colors.

Why have you turned off the Black in the CMYK?

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 11.7.1
Affinity Designer 2.0.0 | Affinity Photo 2.0.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.0.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

I have turned off the Black to check it. Acrobat says that all these colors from Grey palette in any profile not blacks.

This is not a black color (0-0-0-100). Look at picture above. This is 72-68-67-88 from Grey palette.

The Grays palette is an RGB palette. Exception: these colors are CMYK, at least in a CMYK document:

I do not need RGB palette in document with CMYK profile!

And this palette works by default, always Greys palette. Then i have to recolor all text and objects in really black color. (read above my reason 1)

That's why if i create document CMYK, and RGB palette have be disabled or non active.

Problem is that that "really black" as you say does not work as default in CMYK profile. When you open or create new CMYK document by default you have Grey palette (RGB) with it black. Do not understand what this palette does in CMYK profile?

I think if i use filter CMYK when i create document it means that i need only CMYK colors. That's why all others palettes must be disabled for non creating confusing, especially considering that Publisher does not have tools for check colors and many users cannot check it. If the developers organize the work correctly with the colors, this tool not needed.

That's why, if i create document with RGB profile i want to see only palettes RGB. If i create document with CMYK profile i want to see and use only CMYK colors and palettes. If developers solve this problem they do not need develop any tools for check is PDF valid or no. It is my logic.

But for now i want to delete all palettes and begin work with color with zero.
