Publisher crashes when open a file and unconfortable connecting links

Recommended Posts

Hi at Affinity.

My friend and I are working on a catalog that I created on my PC. I sent the file to him so that he could prepare an English language version of the catalog and send the file back to me.

This problem has occurred:

1. When you upload the English version to the folder where all the links are (folder with all links), the file is not opened (only opening) and in a moment the entire Publisher crashes without any notification or error message.

2. When I upload this critical file to another folder (without links folder), the file will open, but of course the links are missing. But I'll open it. The only solution is to reconnect the links.

Links:

1. Missing links in a document are connected very laborious, complicated, and take a really long time with an extensive catalog. Why doesn't it work the same as in InDesign, where you just connect one link and the others connect automatically? This would make it much more comfortable and faster. I know you're not InDesign, but that would be very useful.

Have a nice day.

Sincerely Mira Hvozdensky

When you Open the file, you are given several options to handle the missing linked content: Yes, No, and Resource Manager.

The natural choice to make is Resource Manager, as that would appear to give you more options. But if you click Yes instead, you will find it will behave as you want.

(Note: The Resource Manager is improved in 1.10 so it can also relink all items, but prior to 1.10 use Yes instead.)

Thank you very much with links help. It works perfectly.
I have the latest version of Publisher (1.9.2.1035), but I didn´t find relink all items there.
