Publisher Section Manager is stuck at full screen size.

Recommended Posts

I just got publisher yesterday, when working on a project I somehow managed to get the section manager window to be full screen size. I cannot figure out how to change it. I cant seem to drag any of its sides or corners to resize it, double clicking it's header bar makes it go from full screen but stuck over everything else to full screen size but able to move it around.

It stays this size on all projects, even creating a new one. Every setting I've found and clicked reset on has done nothing to change this. Even uninstalling and reinstalling Publisher didn't fix this.

Did I encounter a bug or is there some secret to resizing popup windows I cant figure out?

Welcome to the forum @Corbz

What Operating System are you using?

I'm on Mac and can double click to get the section manager full screen but I can also double click a second time and it goes back to it's default size, the window is scalable via the corners to.

I'm using Windows.

Double clicking makes it go between a locked in position full screen to a full screen sized popup that I can drag around but cant resize or get to dock anywhere. The edges and corners don't get a resize tooltip.

Very easily done!

Quickest way to fix it...

Hold (and keep holding) the CTRL key down when starting Publisher

You will get a "Clear User Data" screen

Tick the first option only "Clear User Defaults" and hit the Clear button at the bottom of that screen

Not-so-easy-fix, but leaves everything else untouched:

1. Close the application

2. Open "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Publisher\1.0\Settings\Window.xml"

3. Adapt the following code to your needs, save and restart the application.

<SectionManagerDialog>
			<X>740</X>
			<Y>380</Y>
			<Width>440</Width>
			<Height>280</Height>
			<Display>0</Display>
		</SectionManagerDialog>
