Guest Posted July 12, 2021 Share Posted July 12, 2021 If you tap the unintuitive and rather vague little arrow to the right of the pencil tool panel you'll be presented with another panel that says 'No stabilizer'. Use the little arrow/chevron controls to cycle through the two options; rope stabilizer and window stabilizer. You can also set the value/size of the stabilizer used. Tapping the vague little arrow tool on the left of that stabilizer panel will take you back to the pencil panel. When you draw now your lines should be a little smoother/more accurate. The pencil tool in Affinity Designer could really use some love, especially in terms of being able to automatically close strokes/shapes and clean-up/simplify drawn paths as I find it often adds unnecessary nodes.
