Chris Andreae Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 I have just bought a new laptop and would like to download Affinity on it. I have and account and a product key/code. How do I go about it? The old laptop is redundant - in every sense (Affinity was VERY slow on it so hopefully the new one will be better). Many thanks Chris Quote
walt.farrell Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 Assuming that the new and old laptops run the same basic OS, either both Windows or both macOS, and you own the retail version not the trial version, then you can simply download from your account at the Affinity Store, https://affinity.store/account/downloads and then install. You will also be able to confirm the product key and email that you'll need during installation. KarenM Posted July 20, 2021 Posted July 20, 2021 Hi, I spilled water on my less than 1 year old MacBook Air yesterday. I ended up buying a brand new MacBook Air with the M1 chip. It is amazing. I went to my account and successfully and easily installed both Publisher and Photo. For some reason my license for Designer was not there. I don't know why. I bought Photo first, then Designer and then Publisher. It might be possible to find the original purchase receipt, but I don't know. Any ideas? Thanks. Karen. Quote

Check the Mac App Store, in case you purchased Designer there rather than from Serif. Staff Patrick Connor Posted July 20, 2021 Staff Posted July 20, 2021 @KarenM I have checked your account and can confirm what you are saying. I have also searched for any other accounts under similar (potentially mistyped) email addresses or names, and there are none that I can find. As walt.farrell suggests you probably bought from the Mac App Store, but if you search your emails for your purchase of Affinity Designer you should see who it was sent by. Serif will have no record of any Mac App Store purchase, and it can be redownloaded from the store by logging in with the same Apple ID as you bought with. KarenM Posted July 20, 2021 Posted July 20, 2021 Ah yes! You both are right! I bought two from the Serif store and Designer from the Mac App Store. These were staggered purchases about 1 year apart, so it makes sense that the mechanisms were different. Thank you!😀 Appreciate the quick response. Quote
