dancebles Posted July 9, 2021 Author Posted July 9, 2021 ok i did it .png the think now is that i can't change the location of the watermark to be under the product layer. the macro can't record such thing either. what can be done about this?....... Quote

You should be able to: Make sure no layers selected. Start recording. Select a layer by clicking on it in the Layers panel. This can be tricky, and may depend on the layer structure of your file, so it would help to have more information and a screenshot of the application window including the Layers panel. If necessary, click on the Insert Behind tool in the Toolbar. Click on an Asset in the Assets panel. Place the Asset on your canvas. David in Яuislip Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 If you want to use it as a batch job, the documents will need consistent layouts so the following approach will place the asset on the 3rd layer down: Make sure nothing is selected Start recording Click top layer, accept Select layer 1 from the top Click on layer below, accept Select layer 1 below current (note 1) Click on the Insert Behind the Selection button Double click on an Asset in the Assets panel Place the Asset Stop recording Now create/open a document with several layers Run the macro and note that the star appears on layer 3, name it 1 Run it again and note that the star appears on layer 3, name it 2 Run it again and note that the star appears on layer 3, name it 3 Run it again and whoops The macro stores the asset and the insertion point so it will locate the star at the bottom right center of an 800 x 600px image Thus you will need seperate macros for each document size , asset and insertion point Works from the edit panel, library or in a batch job (1) you might expect clicking the 2nd layer and choosing Select layer 2 from the top would work but it doesn't AddStar-Centre800x600.afmacro dancebles 1 Quote Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Intel i7-1360P 2.20 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Affinity Photo - 24/05/20, Affinity Publisher - 06/12/20, KTM Superduke - 27/09/10
dancebles Posted July 10, 2021 Author Posted July 10, 2021 thank you! i wll check it out later on Quote
David in Яuislip Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 A pleasure, hope you get it working An alternative approach if you have documents with varying layer constructions would be to rename one layer as 'target' or 'PUTtheWATERMARKunderHERE' and search for that instead dancebles 1 Quote Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Intel i7-1360P 2.20 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Affinity Photo - 24/05/20, Affinity Publisher - 06/12/20, KTM Superduke - 27/09/10

The star appeared on the middle of the canvas in the #2 layer position. I tried this both with a layer selected first & with no layer selected but there was no difference. I then tried naming it "1" & ran the macro again, with the same result -- a new star layer appeared in the #2 layer position, also centered on the canvas (so on top of the first star). Maybe this is something that works differently on Macs vs. Windows systems? Quite possibly, macros are the source of endless amusement but your results are dissapointing. I just tried again with 3 layers and it produced 4 properly then went AWOL on the 5th. Maybe the named layer approach will work better, I'll try tomorrow if I remember, I am currently on bbq duty and it looks like it's almost ready to put the food in! Was this done with an 800X600 px canvas? If so, it does not look like any star was located at the bottom right; more like dead center similar to what I got. Yes but the description, which I have now corrected, was based on an earlier version so thanks for the spot. In your honor I have misspelled centre as well as honour 🙂 R C-R 1 Quote Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Intel i7-1360P 2.20 GHz, 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Affinity Photo - 24/05/20, Affinity Publisher - 06/12/20, KTM Superduke - 27/09/10
