The first Indication of this problem was when I opened a new project this morning and was greeted by something like this in the new document setup: Then I created a polygon tried to add effects. this is the effects tab after hovering over each button for no amount of time: The window manager buttons when hover: I haven't tried anything else to reproduce this. I am very inexperienced with graphic design, I wouldn't know where to find them if I tried. This problem seems to only apply to checkboxes. Edited July 9, 2021 by zachsa999 Quote
Staff Sean P Posted July 9, 2021 Staff Posted July 9, 2021 Hi zachsa999 Unfortunately this is caused by some third party audio software that we don't have any control over, namely ASUS SonicRadar and MSI Nahemic. We believe they've recently rolled out an update that has made this issue pop back up. Please check the list here - https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/44770-issues-caused-by-third-party-software/ Copy & pasted from that thread: ASUS Sonic / MSI NahemicProblem: User Interface elements can disappear or appear stretchedCause: ASUS Sonic / MSI Nahemic interferes with Direct3D9 rendereringSolution: Start the application with --no-hw-ui flag, or stop the software (this won't affect the driver or functionality of the sound card)https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/49247-16089-issues-tabs-vanishing/&do=findComment&comment=249809 zachsa999 1 Quote

I uninstalled sonic radar, (its literally the definition of bloatware) and restarted Affinity design and it works. Sean P 1 Quote

In fairness its actually a fairly tricky connection to make with it being audio based software! Glad you've sorted it - I don't blame you there! My motherboard came with it and decided it was unnecessary. zachsa999 1 Quote
