On my Facebook group, someone asked if they could open a set of camera images in the order they were taken so that they could work on the image tabs left to right. If you simply open a set of files at the same time they will normally be opened in a random order (ok not random, probably to do with how long each takes to open).

I therefore created this Shortcut which performs that function. I am using macOS Monetary and M1 Mac mini new feature which is the IOS Shortcuts app. I am sure this could be implemented on older macOS using scripts and on Windows 10 using a batch file.

I multi-select a bunch of images then pass that using the Quick Actions menu to the shortcut, which sorts the list in alphabetical order then opens them one at a time in order.

Nice addition to the apps

My only thought is that it may slow down opening a bunch of images, as they will all have to be loaded sequentially, whereas at the moment the Apps appear to open them (the images) in parallel - is that the case?

To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. If any of "my" posts are wrong or appear to be total b*ll*cks they are the ones generated by the AI. If correct they were probably mine. I apologise for any mistakes made by my AI - I'm sure it will improve with time.

Hard to tell, with an M1 Mac, everything is very fast ! And it won't work I don't think on my 2016 Macbook.

EDIT: Surprisingly enough it does work on my Macbook 2016 but it is slower than M1 of course and slower than opening them in one go.

I can't recall if Big Sur also has the shortcuts app, if so I guess it should work there as well.
