applying master to pages crashes Publisher app 1.9.3 Mac

Hello,

has anyone found a workaround for this? When applying master "chapter 1" to several pages, the app crashes. I remember this was an issue in 2020 as well. Back then, it crashed before I could even release the mouse button. Now at least it waits for me to release the mouse button. Attached files for reference.
