Starting today, the Menu headings are disappearing when I hover over them. Sometimes they reappear, other times, not. Nothing has changed on system since previous use. Happens on both photo and designer.

Current steps taken:

1st attempt: Did a reset from the menu while holding ctrl and clicking icon - no luck.

2nd attempt: Uninstalled completely, removed all associated folders, and started with fresh install - no luck.

This is not happening on any other programs on system. I look forward to your suggested solutions.

Sincerely,

Pat

Welcome to the forums @camadofit

That isn’t happening with my Windows system and I can’t remember anyone else reporting this.
Without seeing a video I can’t be sure exactly what’s happening but it looks like it could be a video card issue rather than something directly to do with the Affinity software (even if it seems to be only happening with that software).
You do seem to have a very wide monitor so maybe it’s something to do with that; maybe the Affinity software can’t cope with such a wide screen on some Windows systems.
Try changing Windows to a different screen resolution and seeing what that does.
Try using a different monitor, if you have one handy, and see if that makes a difference.
Try updating your video card drivers and, if that doesn’t work, you may need to supply some technical details of your set-up so someone can check various other things.

Hi @camadofit,

Welcome to the Affinity Forums :)

I'm sorry to see you're having trouble, this certainly isn't an issue I've seen being reported previously - it's definitely a strange one!

Can you please confirm for me:

What are your settings under Edit > Preferences > Performance? (a screenshot would be perfect)

Do you have any of the following apps installed?

Are you using a custom ICC colour profile, applied to your monitor through the operating system settings?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Pat, I've seen this before, quite a while ago. It was caused by some third party software. Please check the list here - https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/44770-issues-caused-by-third-party-software/

Copy & pasted from that thread:

ASUS Sonic / MSI Nahemic
Problem: User Interface elements can disappear or appear stretched
Cause: ASUS Sonic / MSI Nahemic interferes with Direct3D9 renderering
Solution: Start the application with --no-hw-ui flag, or stop the software (this won't affect the driver or functionality of the sound card)

@Mark Ingram

@Dan C

Based on your responses, I went through the 3rd party software issues. It was the asus sonic. I completely uninstalled the radar and studio apps (this is not a gaming pc so no need for them ever). Restarted and everything is back to normal. I have never used them or activated them, so I don't know what changed that. Thank you greatly for your time and help in this situation.
