Use Publisher Data Merge on multiple pages at the same time

Recommended Posts

Hello, I would like to use the Affinity Publisher data merge function on several pages at the same time, so that on each initial page the data records are processed from the beginning. In my case, I want to generate double-sided vocabulary cards using the data merge layout tool, where the vocabulary name is on one side and the translation is on the other. In the data file each entry is a vocab with its information. How exactly can I do something like this?

Thanks in advance!

Interesting problem. I used a Word and Definition (Definition is actually just a number) example but it works for Translation as well.

You are going to have to decide in advance how many Words/Definitions per page. In your example you have three so that is how I set up the CSV file, each record has three Words and their Definitions. Use the Data Merge tool to make a 1 column by 5 (or 6 or 7) rows frame across the two page spread. You will need to set up the fields to be mirrored on the pages 1,2,3,6,5,4 so when you print this ... well you'll see. I used Text Frames for each individual field this gives you the ability to play with Paragraph styles for the Word and the Definition.

Publisher and CSV.zip

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
