Slider input for small numbers 0.0 to 2.0

Recommended Posts

Hi,

on iPad it is very difficult to use the sliders for exact numeric input in the range of 0.0 to 2.0, e.g. for blur, frequency separation etc. The slider jump to e.g. 6.8 or much higher values.

Using numeric input is no good alternative, as you need too many clicks to slightly adjust values.

e.g. To change from 123.9 to 124.0 you need to

  1. enter field by touch or pen
  2. position to last digit
  3. erase 3 characters: 3.9
  4. type in 3 cars: 4.0
  5. close dialog.
  • it is about 9 steps, vs 1 mouse wheel scroll on desktop.

what i miss is a slider or +/- buttons to adjust the value by only 0.1 increments. So that you can check the result visually after doing very small input changes.
