i can't see shapes using duplicate shortcut command+j in my canvas, but i see them on layers palette.

i am  using a macmini late 2012 and catalina 10.15.6 os  and the latest version of affinity 1.9.3, it use to work fine in other versions,  i was trying to duplicate a shape around a circle using ⌘ + j and the shapes are not shown on the canvas but the duplicates appear on the layers palette, only if i press at the same time it works but make too many duplicates, thanks

That is one item duplicated exactly on top of another. This drives me up the wall sometimes, I wish we could have an offset for x,y to turn on and off.

If that’s what you’re trying to do, you have to rotate (not just move) the first duplicate, anyway. Show the centre of rotation for the original shape, snap it to the centre of the circle and then use ⌘+J to create a duplicate. Now rotate the copy and press ⌘+J repeatedly to create more copies, each one automatically rotated around the centre of the circle by the same amount.

 i realize was my mistake, i wanted to delete this  topic but i can't, the mistake i was doing was to make the rotation and then duplicate, thanks for your support
